Leopold Bench

Leopold Bench

This was one of my favorite projects, easy to build and surprisingly comfortable. I went with two contrasting colors as you can see in the pictures below. I also add some trim wood to the arm rests. I'll include the tutorial video below. Go forth an create, thanks for stopping bye, hope to see you later.

Scroll saw USA

Scroll saw  USA

Here is a simple project anyone can do with just a Scroll saw a printer and a small American flag, spay glue, stain or paint, drill and 1/16 drill bit and exacto knife. First lets find a USA map template clip art < follow clip art link. Save it to your computer and print it out ether 4x6 or 5x7 witch would fit best to match the size of the miniature flag you have. Spray glue the template to whatever size board you want, the thickness of your board works best with a 1/4 quarter inch piece of plywood, best for Scroll sawing. Start you hole with the 1/16 drill bit, drill through one of the great lakes for your starting point. You do need the right Scroll saw blades for this project, see your scroll saw manual to see if you can use ether a plane end or pin end. My Scroll saw has both options, your's might not. Here is the link to the blades I used > plane end blades. Start cutting out the shape of the USA and don't worry about cutting out the great lakes they will be covered by the flag you spray glue on later. Now that you have your cutout pieces remove the template with something, I used paint thinner. Let it dry and get ready to paint or stain the square piece of board too your liking. Now you can spray glue your flag to the USA cutout piece and let dry. When completely dry cut around the USA shape leaving 1/4 or more material.  Almost done,  take your square painted or stained piece and place it over the USA cut piece and force it in for the inlay until flush. Now flip it over and glue the two pieces together. Now you half to figure out whether or not to hang it or display it like a picture on a desk or shelf. I'll leave that part up to you. That's it! You're all done, thank you very much if you actually fallowed along with this project. I tried to explain it in every detail that I could if I were following it to. If I did a good job let me know in the comments bellow and SUBSCRIBE.

Whiskey Sign

I have always liked the logos made by whiskey companies like Jim Beam or Jack Daniel's. They are simple yet bold in color and design. I decided to create a brand of my own  calling it Sea Baron Whiskey. I created a logo design in Adobe Illustrator and printed it out.
I then transferred the image to a piece of scrap pine wood using graphite paper. I had limited tools for this project, just a Jigsaw and a hand held router power tool. As you can see the en results looks amazing with a little stain and some clear Polyurethane.

Wooden Paper Airplane

Wooden Paper Airplane

I was definitely inspired by a art piece that I came across while googling around the net one day and found it interesting that some one would think of painting a airplane that looks like it was made out wood. You can view the artwork with this link Wood Airplane Painting. Since I have limited tools to work with I thought I would try recreate this idea in the real world as you can see my results below.

This was a simple project made from 3 pieces of 1/4 inch wood scraps. I cut each of the wings at the same time to keep them uniform to each other. I measured up 3 inches for the wing span and measured 7 inches across for the length of the whole wing and cut them both out at the same time by taping the 2 scrap pieces together and making my cuts.

The bottom piece measurements is 2 1/2 tall and 7 inch long to match the length of the wing pieces. That's all the cuts you need to make, now glue the wings together first, let them dry first, then glue the bottom to the wings and let dry fully, sand it for the finale stage. I finished it with a redish type stain and a couple of clear coats of spray Lacquer.

That's it, I really like the end results and it looks great on on my desk. I did this project because it reminds me of a better time in my childhood. Now I have an adult version on an old toy.
